Chapman Stick thread

More than 40 years after hearing Tony Levin play the Chapman Stick, I finally got one.
Railboard 10, classic tuning: In the picture, right to left: DAEBF#CGDAE

So far I have just place a Delegate-Bone Compressor on the bass side and tried a few fuzz and Julai choris on the melody side.

I'm open to idea and suggestions.

That's awesome!

I can hardly handle the four strings on my bass. Those Chapman Sticks and Warr Guitars are nuts. "Wearable Piano" is how I always think that about them.

Have you been able to find your way around on it very well yet?

Chapstick?

My old vocal coach had one of these...cool stuff. Lots of tappy tappies. I was like "but how chugga chugga djent djent?"

Plenty of wheedly whees though.

Let me reassure you. I don't master guitar 36 years later... But I can't help it. I want to experience many instruments even if I play them just a bit.

It's why I got a mandolin, a cello, a sitar, a fretless uke bass and have an acoustic guitar set to Fripp's "New Standard Tuning".

I'm still at beginner level on all those. But I enjoy playing all of them from time to time.

The Stick is very challenging so far but still more "natural" than cello at first.

I never really cared or spent time to think about finger choices on the fretboard with guitar but on this one, it's another universe!
