If there were ever a circuit I thought could replace the Rats I've loved for years, I honestly think this could be it. It doesn't get into the collapsing opamp tones the Rat does, obviously. But for the more standard, present, driving rock distortions, it's bad ass
Only tweaks are C3 is now 4.7u, and C5 is 22u. Currently have the first stage set to about 6.2v and the second just below 7v, though there are a few other settings I liked from super shiny grit up to busted transistor sounds. I settled on where they're at now because that's where the Sag and DRV pots had the most range
I really dig this circuit so far, but I'm gonna have to play with it some more and see how it compares a/b with the Rat. I am also kinda tempted to build another as an always on with the pots turned into trimmers. Seriously awesome box
