SOLVED Clock Module seems to lock up

Anyone ever notice the clock module sort of locking up? For example, I'm trying to add it to an FV-1 build now (having already removed the crystal and 15pf cap from the main board) and it seems to be working well enough, but exhibits the following behaviour:

  • If the 10k control is dimed (0 resistance between lugs 2 & 3) when power is connected to the board the effect doesn't seem to start (no wet signal)
  • If I back off the control then re-connect power it all works fine
I've made the board trimmer an external pot and have switched the pot twice (edited this thread once as I thought a new pot had fixed it).

Otherwise I'm experimenting with a resistor between lug 3 and the board, so there's always some resistance there, but was curious if anyone else has seen similar behaviour or if maybe I'm missing something.

I've seen it done both ways in production pedals...

3.3V seems like a much better idea (which is why the docs have been updated), otherwise you're hammering the FV-1 clock pin with overvoltage.
