SOLVED Cobalt Drive - LED not working

Hello all!

I'm working on a Cobalt Drive and I'm having an issue getting the LED to work. Initially, when I plugged it into power, the LED lit up dimly, then faded. The pedal is working fine. All of the pots are responsive, and the footswitch turns the circuit off and on, just not the LED. Here have been my troubleshooting steps since:

After desoldering and testing it, I confirmed it was dead. However, I had the polarity correct.
I tested a fresh LED on my breadboard and soldered it into the PCB, but no dice. Using jumpers to hook clips into the breadboard, I was able to confirm that the new soldered in LED is still working, but the pedal doesn't activate it.
I confirmed continuity from R100 to the Cathode with a multimeter.

At this point I don't know what to do except disassemble the pedal and check the underside of the breakout board jumpers. Could the Footswitch be causing this issue? Any ideas?

Edit to add photo showing LED lighting up when hooked up to a breadboard.

SOLVED: Fortunately no damage to the PCB. I redid the off board wiring for the input, output, DC, and the LED. Before final assembly, I used the hook clip jumper wires to provide power to the power and ground leads and the LED lit right up. I’m going to keep that procedure in my back pocket so I don’t waste time having to disassemble and reassemble next time I need to troubleshoot.

It's likely that you burned a trace in the vicinity of the LED. Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol and Q tips and inspect it further. The LED circuitry is really simple so the problem should be obvious once everything is cleaned up.

So it seems that the issue was caused by my shaky hands and inexperienced (but now a little more experienced)eye!

Thanks for the tip about a burned trace. I’ll keep that in mind if this comes up on a future build!
