Custom A/B Box + Assignable footswitch

Hi everyone ! đź‘‹

First time poster here.

I am looking for a solution to a problem I have with my current band.

We have a couple of songs where I have to change from my acoustic guitar (on a stand) to my electric within a couple of beats AND also change scene on my Axe FX through a RJM Mastermind GT10.

The idea I have is to design a custom A/B box for the guitars, with the footswitches on my pedalboard and the inputs in my rack and find a way for these two footswitches to also be external footswitches for the Mastermind.

Here is a quick draft of what this needs to do.

Unfortunately I lack the experience to know how this could work. As far as I know, I need momentary 2-pin footswitch for the "footswitch" part of the project but is it alright to use these for the A/B box side of things ?
I do not need any LEDs or anything. I want that to be as simple as possible. Nor do I need any "Y" capabilities.

Is anyone willing to give it's input ?

Cheers

You want one button to both AB your guitar input and trigger a program change in the AxeFX? The problem is, you want one button / switch to perform 2 electrically / mechanically different things. Your AxeFX will expect a momentary signal, but your AB needs a physical circuit change.

If that is the case, you will need an MCU, and either Relay or CMOS switcing so that one momentary can perform both functions. Both your AxeFx and the MCU will receive the same momentary input, the AxeFX will do whatever it does with the info, the MCU will be set to activate a Relay that performs the DPDT part. Not easy but doable. Well outside of my expertise though.

I was looking at that Axe Fx, and it looks like it has plenty of inputs and outputs. Is there a reason those won’t work for this case?
