I really like this circuit. Does it sound like Tony Iommi in a box? No. I don't quite think Laney is marketing it as that but kind of seemed like it. But it sounds great. It does a great job of that boost/low gain OD.

I really liked the look of the original, so I borrowed from it quite a bit.

I did not splurge for the MC33178 so I just went with old reliable TL072. At low gain, I can't imagine that would make an impact.

Good stuff.

The circuit is like 98% a Spark boost. And if anything, the small tweaks improved it. Tony is listed on TC's site as a user of the Spark pedal. I guess Laney just figured, "hey Tony uses it so let's make a copy and call it a signature pedal".

That seems very common in the pedal market. Before I started building and really understanding pedals, I fell for that kind of marketing a lot. Can't blame them I guess.
