DBA Space Ring vero tranformer question?

I'm just about done building the DBA space ring on vero board but I wanted to get some clarification before I soldered these tranformers in. Should these be installed primary on the left? here is a link the layout.

Looks like you want the primary on the left. Pin 2 is disconnected in both xformers, and you can see the corresponding cuts in the vero.

What should I do about the short stubby legs on the side of the transformer? Clip em off?

yes. clip them off

actually, if you have room, might be better to bend them 90 degrees instead - gives the xfmr a little more mounting stability.
