SOLVED Deadendfx switchblade

I finished wiring up this DEFX switchblade and its passing signal but it’s not sounding correct. Not enough gain and the whole thing just doesn’t seem to be behaving properly. I know it’s kind of a weird circuit but something is off for sure. I double checked component values and everything is good. The NPN is 2sc1815. The PNP is 2sca1015. I bought these transistors from tayda but they have a UTC prefix instead of 2sc. is this the problem? Here are some photos and build docs. I feel like its a transistor issue but not sure.

Check the pin outs on the transistor data sheets. I’m not sure what’s what on your board, but there look to be three transistors installed in the same orientation, and I think the pin outs on the two you referenced are opposite of each other (ECB, BCE).

Ok turns out they were all backwards. I looked up the datasheets on both the transistors and they have the same pinout. i just had them all backwards. but its up and running now and sounds pretty killer. definitly another weird one. its a clone Last Gasp Arts Super Oscillo 88. thanks again for helping me figure this one out.
