Deflector Reverb not engaging

Hello all! I’ve built quite a bunch of pedals but this one is not giving in. When I hit the switch the effect is not engaging, it’s still the clean signal I’m hearing (there's no noticeable difference in sound). The FV-1 chip was a bit tricky to solder, could that be it? Is it easy to fry or damage? Or would I be able to hear something else than the dry signal when engaged if that would be the case? Maybe the 2n2 cap I accidentally hit and melted slightly with my iron? I did a basic troubleshooting and checked all my soldering and wires but can’t find anything out of the ordinary. Hope it’s something silly. Many thanks in advance, can’t wait to hear it coming to life.

OK, just wanted to eliminate wiring/switching as a problem.

The Deflector is a little different from most of the other FV-1 builds so this may or may not give us any useful information, but....

Connect this point to ground and see if the condition changes at all. (With power applied to the circuit of course)

I connected it to the 9v ground. The 'Density' potmeter (bottom left) now now has a cracking strange distorted sound when I touch it and the mix knob (bottom right) now works in combination of it — I can turn the fx mix down and off. When I turn it all the way to counterclockwise the noise disappears and it's only my dry signal again.

I've had this problem for a while and I've troubleshot it till I'm blue but I think it has something to do with the clock locking up. If I pull power, count to 10 and plug it back in it seems to be OK. I have it set to power up to on from when I had a fancy schmancy loop controller but I'm back to full manual and have never changed it back. It's been an easy fix and only happens once in a while...hence the laziness.
