Diodes from India

If I were to purchase diodes in bulk from India through eBay that claim to be genuine germanium diodes, what are the chances that I would be getting a genuine product and how will I know the difference.

Also, what are tariffs like from India?

I’d be purchasing 1000 diodes for $200-$400.

It depends on the seller's ratings, return policy and number of sales. You can also tell by looking at them - germanium diodes have a whicker point, silicon does not. You can also tell by testing them with a Peak Atlas DCA75.

I’ll have to study up on that whicker point stuff.

I do plan on getting a DCA 75. I was thinking those were more for JFETs and transistors, but I didn’t realize they were for diodes as well.
