Does the Sabbath not have a low gain setting?

Or did I just screw up my build? I mean it sounds great, but even with the gain knob all the way down it has quite a bit on tap. I use PN4393s from Mouser and a BC184LC that took me forever to twist the legs in the correct orientation. But this thing screams.

See... I keep forgetting about that. Growing up a metalhead everything was just wide open all the time. I had no idea what nuance was.

You could change R13 to something smaller, say 10K.

I like the high gain I am just not used to dialing the gain pot down to zero and still hearing clipping.... well or anything on most pedals.
