Hi y'all !

I am really not familiar with this boutique company but apparently Dunwich amplification as now got a osh park page

Only a few projects are now available but they did upload new stuff this month.

Is anyone familiar with those circuit ? They seem to be amp in a box types of circuits with a lot of bells and whistles ^^

I would be curious if someone decides to pull the trigger and order some how they liked them :p

I was made aware of the existence of the osh page by dirt box layout that as already made some unverified Vero of a couple of those projects.

Dunwich is very popular on Talkbass; if you want to learn more about the man, his company and his circuits, there's some good reading to be had in the Dunwich thread.

I can second this. He's a super helpful dude who shares quite a lot over at TB.

Maybe kinda late, but I've done a few so far.

Cisneros Tone Generator (CTG):
As a big fan of the man, this was mandatory. As you might know, its basically 3 circuits in parallel. DS1, DOD250 and a JFet clean boost. Build went smoothly, delivers as promised, I dig it big time. There's even a short clip of a test drive, where I just make sure all the 3 "voices" are functioning. (Not a demo at all, just mindless knob twisting, some info on soundcloud)

Bass OD: Apparantly "based" on the Boss ODB3, but with anything Dunwich, that was just a starting point and evolved into its own thing. It's super versatile with the 3-band EQ, toggle switches and the clean blend that has a Filter on it. Build went smoothly again, one thing is, the Filter is pretty subtle. Nick suggested to double up the value of the cap in there to shift the max low cutoff down in frequency.
No clips, but believe me, it sounds pretty nice.

HM2: Has a clean blend, so why not? Dime anything and get the Chainsaw sound, sure, but the clipping options make it do other sounds too. Still more a guitar pedal than for bass, I'd say, but again, very cool.

Apostle: Matamp/Orange amp emulation, running mostly on 36V, so watch your caps rating and get a deep enough enclosure. This one raised some questions and issues. One thing is a 10UF film cap that in no way fits on the PCB, at least the ones I found. So I wired it off board, no biggie. Then the FAC: I didn't bother with a rotary as I'm mostly a "give me all the bass" type, and just put a dip switch in there, but bypassing the cap gave me gated sounds of the not so good kind (bias problem, I think, but I'm a noob). And lastly, with the ususal wiring, there were grounding problems, at least I think (again, noob): PSU shutdown, oscillation, you name it .... lifting the ground of the enclosure was part of the solution, so it's fine now.
Short test clip, only messing with gain and boost, bass/treble stay around noon and the volume is barely turned up (this pedal is LOUD).

Thanks for sharing! It’s always nice to get some audio in here!
Sounding pretty cool! Which was your favorite of them?

Thanks for listening!
I'd say the CTG is my favourite, but the Apostle is very close behind that. Together they are massive.
Thanks for the clips and the info ! I am overwhelmed by my backlog unfortunately :/ but I might give that CTG a try in the future ^^ that's the one I was eyeballing the most :p
