Could only find LT054CP and LT054IP instead of plain ole LT054. From what i can see in datasheets it might not matter?
Pedal makes sound but its sound is super gated and only works on lower register notes. Like a bias starved fuzz?

I have this sneaking suspicion it will be the oc71. Never EVER not used a socket before but there wasn't room. I tested it first in another pedal and it worked fine. I soldered quickly and with a minute to cool on each of all three legs. Red dot to Collector as in the datasheet. So weird. I had to make a video so you can hear what it's doing.

EDIT: DROPBOX LINK REMOVED. NEED THE SPACE!

I didn't make any other subs but that IC chip and i think it's still a workalike. My next step is to take it apart and maybe pull the oc71 and try to get some socket pins in there. truly stumped. Used to troubleshooting no sound or no power etc, but this is a weird one.

I'm impressed by your eye. I gotta stop doin these so late. I see it. I'm gonna pull it and swap it. Ouch.... my pride.

EDIT: that little guy was the culprit. Yall are amazing. Second set of eyes helped as usual.

I feel your pain. The last time I misread a resistor value, the sun was in my eyes :sneaky:
I keep tellin myself it was next to a 5k6. and the color band is a brown vs red thing on ONE band..... sigh. It was hard to spot too.
I always do the resistors, sockets and caps out of my "stash" at home before i even order the specific parts. So it sat on my desk wrong for WEEKS before i did everything else. I'm super careful and figured it had to be a dead part..... sure enough. Stupid prevails :-/
