Hi,

Would anybody be able to help with wiring / hardware requirements for making an external footswitch to switch between two PCBs that are in one enclosure?

I'm assuming it needs a relay but not really sure!

Need more info
Want an AB footswitch and 1 bypass?
1 in 1 out jack or 2?

Sorry, no it would just be an AB footswitch - there will be a 'clean' pcb and a dirt pcb in an enclosure so there would be one input and then an output to a power amp and the footswitch would just switch between the clean and dirt

Sounds to me like you want a flipper switch with the ins and outs going to the input and output jacks rather than a stomp switch, unless you want what @Robert is asking.

Use a dpdt relay board in the 2 pedal enclosure
2 conductors out, I'd use a TRS jack, to the external switch box
Us a single pole normally open footswitch/button.
This is assuming you don't want a bypass. If you do, wire the relay in out to a bypass PCB like the relay PCB is an effect.
Note, don't use a TS jack. You need a 2 conductor connector, otherwise you'll be shorting the 5v logic to ground. I would use isolated jacks as well to keep the 5v from shorting when you plug/unplug the cable.
