With some help from the forums, I was able to successfully complete my first DIY pedal! I did the "Cross Contaminator" PCB, which is based off of the Earthquaker Devices Dirt Transmitter. I actually made two, one for my dad and one for me. I can probably clean up my wiring a little better in future builds, but both worked great on the first try!
This pedal really sounds awesome! I've only ever used muff-based fuzzes before, and this one is based more on a fuzz-face I think. With the Dirt and Bias at Noon, it's a really nasty fuzz. Crank the bias and dial down the dirt and you get a nice crunchy overdrive that reacts nice with the volume knob. Or dial the bias way back and get a sputtery dying battery fuzz sound. Couldn't be happier with the result!
