From My Vault: Name this Pedal!

It's got at least a 1'' block of square Goop with wires hangin out of it!????
It would probably seperate into a couple of pieces if removed the circuit from its Crypt.
If it aint broke, I don''t want to fix it!

Forget about the block, can you trace the rest? We might be able to make a good guess as to what is in the block based on the rest of the circuit.

Congratulations and thank you for choosing the Rust Box!

Your new effect is a handmade, point-to-point wired, top-performing pedal that will forever change the way you use the boost/overdrive/distortion effect.

dina's Only the best, individually selected components have been used to guarantee you hours and hours of worry-free music and pure enjoyment.

how

Contrary to the majority of effects pedals available on the market, the Rust Box was designed with a specific purpose: to bring out the best qualities of your setup and style. Its transparent and natural timbre preserves all the nuances of your sound, plus Aust Box enhances the dynamics and expressiveness of your setup, for maximum fun and satisfaction in playing.

The Rust Box allows you to go from an ultra-saturated sound to a clean sound, preserving all the harmonic content and dynamics simply by lowering the guitar volume. Avral has an infinite range of distorted/crunch/clean songs at your fingertips, simply by working with the controls on your guitar. Take full advantage of all the possibilities of the Rust Box and take it to the extreme: & your new pedal will sound good regardless of how the controls are arranged

Controls
Looks like a couple of errors, but just a pretty normal spiel otherwise. Blah blah range blah blah volume pot blah blah amazing like you've never heard before.

Here's one around the corner from you!;)
Having seen the insides, I think I'll pass.

What's the part # on the IC?

I know from experience that soldering pots to the Cu side of a Vero board is a recipe for failure. The slightest stress on the pot leads will peel up the Cu strip.

Looks like 5 wires going into the potted block. The black one is ground, the red one may well be Vcc. If so, there are active parts in there. The white wire goes to the input jack. Maybe a booster?
