I'll preface this by saying that if it sounds good and you're happy then it's good and don't overthink it.

Personally, I would want the clean boost *after* the clipping stage if you're trying to highlight the differences between clipping diodes.

Again, this is an overly complicated solution to the problem of volume drop after selectable diodes when you could just turn the volume knob slightly.

circuit-diagram.org - it's nice for quick stuff like this where you just want to sketch something out and don't care about editing/saving it forever.

Buddy - What I was looking for (and eventually accomplished!) was a single knob pedal with a switch that can be either a boost or a distortion, where the distortion didn't have a volume drop. It seems there's a few ways to do that. I like mine, but I also like playing with my breadboard, so I am going to try all the suggestions here eventually

mdc - that's a really cool idea. I will have to buy a rotary and build that, and see how it compares to what I made
