Fuzz/Distortion PPCB Boards

Built the Superflare with an LPB-1 boost and the Little Huzzy recently. Absolutely adore the fuzz/distortion/overdrive sounds I'm getting from both of these circuits.

Any other recommendations for fuzz/distortion style circuits I should check out?

Anything based on the Jordan Bosstone, e.g. Executive Fuzz, Teddy Rupture, Trumpeter (put in Q2 backwards if you build this one), or Ermahgerd. They all can cover overdrive, distortion, and fuzz, and are great at all three.

SOFTii, if we had a pcb for the catalinbread katzenkonig I'd say that too (aion does). The Projectile does a lot of both too, it gets pretty blown out sounding at higher gain.

For me personally, it's hard to beat the Harmonic Percolator. It literally does everything from slight rhythm dirt, OD, and of course full on fuzz.

With my rig and style of play, I found that "fuzzstortion" style circuits work best for me, which is why the Superflare and Little Huzzy worked so good for me.

Appreciate all the recommendations, although a few of them are not in the direction I'm heading (octave fuzz). I'll have to look into the Desolate/Erm fuzz circuits to see if those are more in line with what I'm going for.

If you're looking for octave fuzz, I found the Octarock to have the best sound of any I've tried. Much cleaner and more predictable than what I'd come to expect with octave fuzz. I haven't boxed it yet so haven't played with it a ton, but I'm excited to.

I too am a big fan of the fuzztortion style pedals. I do like the Corduroy Fuzz. It doesn't get many good reviews here, but I really enjoy it. It's a cool distortion that can get fuzzy

Definitely NOT looking for octave fuzz haha, fuzzstortion is all I'm looking for

Cool list so far. This is interesting to me, I have none of those except the octarock, which doesn't count for this thread. Been eyeing a few of 'em for a bit.

Superflare
Little Huzzy
Fornicus
desolate fuzz
Executive Fuzz
Teddy Rupture
Trumpeter
Ermahgerd
Uberfuzz (not counting for this thread)
Fuzzy Fox
Projectile
Percolation Station
Corduroy Fuzz
Dung Beetle

I would 1000% recommend the Superflare and Little Huzzy. There's next to zero info on either of those here, so I took a shot in the dark and definitely stumbled on 2 sleepers. The Superflare is just such an awesome fuzz, been using it for a ton of lead work. The Little Huzzy is super versatile, I use it with the gain dialed down for rhythm work. They also sound great stacked together.

Those two circuits are what spurred my curiosity about other circuits that may be similar to those.

I misunderstood this to mean you _were_ headed in the direction of octave fuzz!

The Dung Beetle is great. Trumpeter is also great but kinda an odd beast - it has some very brassy settings so the name is accurate. One of my favorites and it has a lot of range.

After rereading my comment, I easily see how that could be interpreted that way haha, wow my bad.

The Dung Beetle is very solid. Definitely one of the circuits that I was thrilled to have taken a stab at not knowing anything about it and being more than happy with its output.

Can’t recommend the Aldrin Fuzz enough. I have built the Screwdriver (MBP Cosmopolitan) and more recently the Lunar module and they are fucking fantastic. Either one can be built on the Aldrin board and Chuck D Bones has some write ups on them in the boneyard. I feel like I need to revisit my Dung Beetle build. Everyone seems to sing it’s praises, but my god I hate mine.
