Sometimes it’s disappointing when a clone doesn’t sound like the original, but that’s definitely not the case with this circuit from Fuzzdog. They really nailed the extreme high gain tone of the Zoar. Take my advice and crank the Weight control all the way.

Not much going on in terms of components- one 2N5457, and the rest are 2N3904s. Bias at 5.1V and you’re good to go. Basic build, common components.

Good selection of Fuzzdog PCBs there. I was a little underwhelmed with extra gain claims of the Gold Drive, but this one is really good. Working on the Sonic Churn now which is a modified Maxon SD-9 Sonic Distortion.
