I do love a good tube screamer. My knock on them has been that many sound too tinny. Trebley. So for this one I replaced C4 with a 100n instead of a 47n (thanks to the members here who suggested) I also took out the N4148s and used red leds - a Love My Switches prewired 3mm for clipping on the outside of the pedal, and a 5mm internal. I used one of the PedalPCB faceplates for the top jacks and it is wonderful. The build was relatively problem free until I got to the clipping light. I was screwed up with the N4148s coupled with led. Phi1 straightened that out for me last night. I think it sounds terrific. It is extremely loud and provides the sweetest overdrive. I used a prewired LED that comes with a resistor attatched, so the external clipping light is weak. I may open that thing up and remove the resistor. Anyway, Dave's is local to me and I will gift this to them.
For hole drilling I use a center punch and actual drill bits. Then I ream the holes with this device just to take off burrs and ridges around the holes. I test on the PedalPCB auditorium platform.
