Help needed with Uberdrive

Hey all, my first post here.

I bought an Uberdrive PCB last winter (first ever pedal build) and soldered it all together. I only got a horrid hissing sound, so I set it aside for a year. Today I realized I had forgotten the small jumper wire on the switch, but more importantly; I realized I had hooked the input/output tip contacts to ground. Switched those around, and now I at least get signal through the pedal. The switch works, the tone pot works, and the level pot works. The gain pot, however, does absolutely nothing. Also, I notice a distinct volume drop with the pedal engaged. My questions are
1) I don't have the indicator LED installed, as I inadvertently blocked the holes for it with solder and haven't gotten around to clearing them out. Will that affect anything or is than on its own circuit?
2) I used 2SC1815 transistors as I couldn't find 2SC732s. From what I've read in another thread they should have the same pinout and work well enough. Is that correct? If anyone has any input that would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Absolutely, here's a few. I know it's sloppy, my soldering skills need some work haha.
