How to Build Your First Guitar Pedal Part Four

Here is part four of How to Build Your First Guitar Pedal featuring the Sandspur. In this video I go through sounds and bias and get mighty surprised when that internal clean blend trimmer results in some great tones. Next week is the final chapter where I paint the image as chosen by Nostradoomus.

What's that thing on your bridge where a whammy bar belongs?
That is the Jake Blade, it is made out of a motorcycle gas tank. The dude from Umphreys McGee uses it and I really like it. I found the bar was always getting in my way and this is an nice alternative.

I believe the clean trimmer was put there to use the fuzz face with hot pickups but watching this video I thought I'd use it differently.

I always roll off the fuzz and volume knobs a bit so the pedal cleans up completely when I roll down the guitar volume. There's a sweet spot where the amount of gain is just right and it's a pain to remember the exact knob setting.

Instead i would max out the knobs on the pedal and find the sweet spot with the clean trimmer.

Two ways to skin a cat.

Every time I hear Dan's playing in a new video, I feel like I should be practicing way more and farting around on here a lot less
I blame Dan. He should miss more notes.
My playing would leave you feeling like Clapton, while allowing for plenty of time to fart.
To summarize, my playing is actually better for your emotional well-being.
