The build report specifies BC549C, does the hfe need to be within a specific range? I read through the blog at Coda Effects and he states the original used 2SC3378 transistors that have an amplification factor (hfe) of 50. He also talks about the lower hfe will provide a smooth sound, whereas a high value will be mushy. So, will that said, I was wondering what people are using or if anyone can comment. Thank you.
