I hooked up seven PedalPCB overdrives for a test today...

Got a gig tomorrow night, wanted to try a few overdrives and see what appealed.

1. Glory Hole
2. Chop Shop
3. Mach 1
4. Paragon Mini
5. Kliché Mini
6. Little Green Scream Machine
7. UberDrive

That's not all of my overdrives, or even all my PedalPCB overdrives, just the first seven within easy reach.

They all sound good. I'm mildly annoyed that my favourites are still the Kliché Mini and the LGSM. The Mach 1 is best for light overdrive but it gets a bit fizzy when you crank it. What I think I'll do tomorrow, though, is go with the Paragon so I can cheat and have two overdrives for the price of one. It's not like anyone else could hear the difference anyway. Even for me the difference is slight.

I recommend doing the same thing if you have a bunch of similar pedals, directly comparing a bunch of them is quite rewarding.

No, I didn't try them all at the same time. I might tomorrow, they're still set up.

Because I was auditioning them for a gig. I was in musician mode, not mad scientist mode.

Nah, they're just stickers from AliExpress. I bought a ton of them and I've been working my way through them.

In case anyone's interested, the gig went well. I took the Paragon and - of course - only ended up using the yellow side because that's all I needed. Could have used any of them.

Evidence. Playing lap steel wearing Dr Martens boots and a Mickey Mouse T-shirt... you can clearly see the Paragon Mini in front of my left boot. I did play regular guitar for the last 3 songs, too.
