I need another amp

Subscribed, as I have a pretty cool EL84 power amp board I need to do something with sooner than later. It's set up for switchable 7/15/30 watt operation and I already have the matching power trafo to allow all those choices, but precious little experience with Vox front ends.

Well now I'm feeling nervous, but I know you can do a great job Barry! And we're here to help if you need it.

For cabs I used to use Mojo a lot - they're as good as cabs get but the cost of shipping to Australia has become ridiculous - the shipping is more than the cost of the cab. That's why I got back into building my own, and the tablesaw my brother got me has made building them a lot easier.

I admit that after I suggested building an amp rather than buying I realised it might have sounded a bit arrogant, so I'm relieved you didn't perceive it that way.

FWIW in my last "Vox" build using the Mojo chassis and board - the AC3015 thing they do - I used GDS transformers which are actually designed for a Marshall 18W and they worked beautifully. I haven't actually tried the Mojotone transformers and I suspect they are also made by Heyboer but to Mojo's specs. I believe that Mojo use their 18W style transformers too. I used the GDS transformers because I have used them before with great results. How different they are from each other I can't say.
