Identifying germanium diode

Needs a little bit of foreplay as well in case it's a grower, not a shower. Just softly stroke it from anode to cathode. Also, make sure to start measuring right down at the base - everybody does.
I thought you had to be careful when measuring germanium parts because they, uh, react easily to being touched by human hands, I guess, and that can throw off the measurements?

Always use millimetres (mm).

For example...

3" is 7.62cm, which is 76.2mm.
3 is smaller than 7, which is smaller than 76 = millimetres for the win.
76mm is the biggest.

Now for all of you fondling Germanium Transistors to excite their hybrid Forward Emitters' DC Base Current, probing their parts' active region, interfering in the relationship between their input current and output current...
FOR SHAME! HAVE YOU NO DECORUM !?!

That's blatant hFE-effectual harassment, you all oughta know Beta than that.

I usually measure ’em either on a metal spoon or holding with tweezers to reduce value dilation……
