Ionizer 2 - Fun With Oscillation (who needs a guitar)

I had a friend who wants something that can just generate noise, so Ionizer 2 came to the rescue with its oscillator. While this is a cool fuzz pedal all around, the exciting part is the noise generator. Take a look at the video to see how it’ll be used by my friend without a guitar.

In your opinion could this be used as a signal generator to put inside a test box instead of plugging a guitar in?
The only issue with that is that it's going to apply a heavy fuzz to a limited freq range monophonic tone. So yes, it will show you whether your pedal is passing signal and whether the knobs on the pedal work (like eq knobs or something), but it won't sound anything like a guitar. You'd be better off recording a couple loops into something like this (see below), and plugging it into your pedal and playing whichever of the 3 loops best suits the pedal (maybe a strumming loop, a picking loop, and a palm mute loop). That'll play an actual guitar signal into your pedal as a more accurate test box.

The looper trick is great and I use it a ton for testing. Just beware that it will make some circuits (e.g. fuzz faces, range masters, etc) react weird when the looper is placed before them due to their low input impedance. It still works and can be useful, it just won't sound right.
