Is there a 'better' MOAB-style pedal out these days?

The designer doesn't know what amp it's to be played through.
The Distortron manual used to recommend running it into a JTM45 for the most authentic "Marshall" sound...... :cautious:

I gotta admit he's right, my JTM45 sounded just like a JTM45, even when the pedal was bypassed.

Just found some PCB shots - 3 TO92's + opamp. I'm guessing it follows the similar JFET/mu-amp/op-amp topology that stacks of other pedals follow, along with a LDR for sag

Any chance you could point me to those pics? I just want a peek.... I'm anxious / impatient. 🤣

I made Chuck laugh when I mentioned I was playing the Jump Drive, AKA LPD 68, through my Plexi clone which is based on a '68 Marshall. It sounds great, so why wouldn't I?? As you say, whther I had the pedal on or not it sure sounded like a '68 Plexi..
:)
