CONTEST It's about time... Pedal Giveaway

CONTEST
This is great dude! I recently got into the BB variants, there's a lot but I think they end up doing the same, I think it woul be nice to try something different...

Now that’s what I call a comeback (and I am not even entering the giveaway as I am EU based). And nice to list the quality components you used, I always struggle to find good providers for wire and hardware.

And my favorite those days is the Nobels ODR-S. as a slightly dirty boost into a high gain amp. I have built myself the Aion Andromeda which has a spectrum and a bass cut knob and it has quickly become my favourite way to shape a sound. Works just as well with regular as it does with low low tunings.

Happy hump day everybody! Thank you all for the kind words. I’m reminded again why this community is so great.

I’m going to go off script a bit since I still have some gift codes I won from an @fig giveaway ages ago. Two runners-up will each receive one standard ($12 US) PedalPCB board of their choice shipped. I will include non-US submissions in these two drawings, but please indicate in your submission post that you are non-US (no need to state specifically where). As long as PedalPCB can ship to your location you are eligible to participate.

One week to go! The deadline for entry is Wednesday, January 22 @ 5PM EST. The winners will be drawn randomly and announced around 6PM EST.

WELCOME BACK, WINTERCEPT!

Welcome back
Life's foibles were your ticket out
Welcome back
To that same Internet space that you gadded about
Well, the avatars have all changed
Since you slung solder around
But those circuits have remained
And they've been turned up loud
Who'd have thought lead-solder'd get you
(Who'd have thought lead-solder'd get you)
Back here with signal bleed-through?
(Back here with signal bleed-through?)
Yeah, we tease Wintercept a lot
'Cause we got Wintercept back on topic
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back
We always could spot a clean builder
Welcome back
And I smile when I think of the PCB you must have seen,
And I know that enclosure,
You were stuffin' it in
Was there a specific circuit that
Made you come build again?
What sound-in-your-head could ever lead you
(What sound-in-your-head could ever lead you)
Back here where Daisy Seed awaits you?
(Back here where Daisy Seed awaits you?)
Yeah, a Terrarium PCB does the lot
'Cause we got him back off the pot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

Man awesome job on that Sugarbag pedal!

Favorite OD here is the Scenario Preamp. I'm big into Blues leads and this pedal has easily filled that spot.

Woah, where am I? What year is it? ChatGPT? Luigi? What are you all on about? Wait, where's fig? Oh brother...

What's up everybody? I'm not sure how many of you will recall, but in November 2021 I posted this thread announcing a pedal giveaway. The poll in that thread voted for the PedalPCB Sugarbag OD, based on the Beetronics Fat Bee, as the pedal that I would build and giveaway to one lucky winner. I ordered the PCB, gathered most of the parts, then vanished... Life did what life does and got in the way, and soon after I had pretty much abandoned pedal building completely. The build sat with many others half finished, I stopped participating in this forum and most others except Reddit, and I never came back to start the actual giveaway thread. For this I sincerely apologize. I made a promise and left this community hanging; and although life goes on and I'm sure most people have forgotten, I am finally here to make good on that promise.

Over the year's I've occasionally stopped by and lurked, and I'd have the urge to get back into building but never followed through. Around a year ago I had a friend over and was showing him my pedal board. He really liked the Aion Redhsift phaser I had built during the pandemic, and he asked if I could build him one. I did, and this got me back into it. I have since also started working on tube amps for him and his brother, and I finally got around to finishing a few builds I had lying around. It's been a real treat working on all that cool gear, but I personally can't continue with this hobby any further until this giveaway is complete. So here it is:

In retrospect, giving away a fully built pedal on a forum dedicated to building pedals may not be the most exciting thing, but here is my build. A rather stylish (if I do say so myself) Tayda UV printed enclosure, real Lumberg audio and DC jacks, a GØRVA Mechano footswitch, Cusack/Stompboxparts pots, Remmington wire, Panasonic, WIMA, EPCOS, and Kemet caps. This build represents the standards I've come to expect since starting this hobby about a decade ago. Throughout that journey, the PedalPCB community has brought me more than I could ever ask from a bunch of internet strangers. I am glad to see that the forum continues to grow and to see many old faces still around. This giveaway was inspired by the kindness and generosity expressed throughout this community.

This giveaway is US only. At the moment I can only reliably ship to US addresses. I am sorry to my friends around the world who may have wanted to participate. I have some small plans to share digital resources with the community as a whole, so stay tuned.

TO ENTER: Simply reply to this thread. There is no specific prompt, but I'm curious to know what your favorite overdrive pedal is. If there is any consensus that may be my next build... I currently rock a Zendrive clone and use it set to low gain to boost my tube amp, aimed at high gain/modern metal tones. All replies to this thread will be counted as an entry, limited to one entry per person. This thread will be open for submissions until Wednesday, January 22 @ 5PM EST. The winner will be drawn randomly and announced around 6PM EST. I will also reach out to the winner via DM to arrange shipping. The pedal will be shipped at no cost to the winner.

Peace.
I kinda like the Boss Dyna Drive - it reacts to how hard you hit the strings :)

Man, that looks great inside and out! I never take the time to get my wiring looking that good, I just get impatient and want to play it 😂. I'm a sucker for any dual overdrive pedal. KOT, Duelist, Protein, I'd be happy with any of them.

That is a beauty of a build. Welcome back, “Kotter”.
There are so many Drives I’ve yet to try. And the half dozen I’ve built were for friends. So my time playing with them was limited.
I currently use an AMZ mini-booster. It’s not a high gain circuit, but it can really pump up the volume.
High five from the north shore of Lake Erie, Canada eh.

Non US submission for the boards. Germany is the base, but I can also offer you a Canadian address.
I discovered this forum some time after you left.
Very clean build. Rock on!

Very cool of you. That's a fantastic looking build.

I've always gravitated towards the Timmy circuit. Although, it seems weird to say I have a favorite overdrive when I don't even have one on my board at the moment as I've been playing acoustic only lately. I do need some form of dirt on there so this would be awesome to win.

P.S. I'm usually more of a lurker on forums, and this one's no exception. This is my first official post, so hello from Oklahoma!
