I was hoping I had a picture on my phone of its current configuration, but it doesn't look like I do so I'll have to grab one when I'm home from work. Right now my board consists of:
  • Shure GLXD6 wireless system
  • Boss ES8 loop switcher
  • Boss XS-100
  • EHX Deluxe Electric Mistress (circa 1979, modified to take 9VDC input)
  • EHX POG III
  • Meris LVX
  • Meris Mercury X
  • Sushi Box Black Eye
  • Sushi Box Black Eye (yup, two of them)
  • Polyend MESS
  • TC Ditto X4
Suffice to say this is all on a Temple Audio Trio-43, which is enormous, because I don't gig as a guitarist and the board never has to leave my basement. For years I tried to keep my board 100% things that I built, but there are too many cool things out there that I can't do better, so I don't bother. My bass board has more of my originals on it, but the guitar board is mostly commercial stuff.

I actually own an original Soldano Supercharger GTO, which the Black Eye is based on, but at the risk of sounding pretentious I actually like the sound of the Black Eye better than the original GTO. The C2C Ambassador is based on the Hotbox, but I actually like the sound of my original Hotbox, so one of these days I need to crack it open and find out what I may be missing. That's admittedly one of the main things keeping me from flipping the Hotbox, I need to find out why it sounds better than any of my supposed clones.

Basically yes, I keep one set for mid-low gain and the other set for high gain. I was working on a two-channel Soldano preamp for a while, but where I'm using a programmable loop switcher anyway it makes more sense to just use two separate pedals.

It looks like the .1 and 1uf bypass caps might be flipped. Maybe there were changes between runs? There's a .1 on the 2nd stage in the Matchless Dirt Box too.

It's possible, but I wouldn't expect that alone to make a huge difference in tone. Ambassador was designed before I had a real Hotbox and was put together based on schematics I found floating around the internet.

We're getting pretty far off topic here 🤷‍♂️
