Kliche boost cap question

Ordered the wrong voltage cap for C7 it’s a little big. Is it too different to use a 100n instead of 120n like it calls for?

Thanks

Looking at the board on Pedal PCB it looks like it's 82n? maybe he used the Kliche mini board and it didn't get updated

Looks to be part of a filter, so it was probably increased to clean up a frequency in Boost version, so I'd say it'll work but your boost might not be as clean

ok yeah I was thinking it was filter related and might have some mild eq effect. Thanks for the reply!

R9 also changes drastically in the Kliche Boost, may want to wait for Chuck D. Bones to chime in

Oh, OK, if you insist...
This is the same as the Kliché Clean, right? R9 limits the dirty channel gain to a much lower value that the Kliché Mini. Same goes for R11. Because of that, C7 will have a much smaller effect on the dirty channel EQ in the Clean as compared to the Mini. I doubt you will hear a difference between 100nF and 120nF for C7. When there is a conflict between the silkscreen and the BOM, the BOM takes precedence.

If you are building this for someone else, you owe it to them to disclose any discrepancies, however minor, between your build and the real deal.

And now, a plug for the Sea Monk (VFE Merman): If you build one of these, you will have a Klon clone that can mimic any of the Klon derivatives.

The Sea Monk is in my que, and if I can get the enclosure done it may move to front of the line

Hey thanks for the reply! Ok so I will definitely tell my brother in law what the deal is. Thanks for the clarification on the BOM that is what I had assumed.

I doubt he will care about the cap difference but I’ll order the right cap in my next tayda shipment. Hell the 120n might fit fine it will just look huge.

I’ll have to look into the sea monk. I actually started building pedals when someone bought me the BYOC Silver Pony kit for Christmas. That thing sounds pretty great.
