Kliche Boost gain and chip mods

I recently finished a kliche boost (Archer) and had some trouble with it. There was only a volume boost and no distortion. This isnt that relevant, but I believe it is working properly now, though I feel like it has slightly (only slightly) less gain than my other Klon builds and copy pedals. Please correct me if this is not how it is meant to be, never played one before.

This leads me to my next question. I didn't do much research, I just like J Rockett designs, but it's pretty Klonny, if you know what I mean. Thought it might be nice to give it something different and was wondering how easy it would be to get a little more gain out of it? I also tried NE5532 chips instead of the TL072's. To be honest I didn't notice much of a difference, didn't record them to A/B, but it wasn't a big change. Are there any other chips or things I should try to give it a little something extra?

The actual Klon doesn’t really have a ton of gain to begin with, but the boost version definitely has less. It’s a boost, not an OD/distortion. More of a “colour” pedal than a drive. Your observations are correct.

Good to know I built it correctly, I was a bit nervous when I had to trouble shoot it.

I guess my issue is I was naively hoping for something a little different. I really like the whole klon thing, I have many klon style pedals and thought it might be interesting to see what else can be done with it.
