Originally I was building this for myself, but a friend of a friend contacted me asking for a klone build and it became someone else's. The PCB was a little tight to fit around the 3pdt switch and the jacks. I had to fiddle with the jacks because the prong for the hot connection was either going to hit the board or enclosure back plate (grounding it out), so I ended up desoldering the wires and bending the solder tabs inwards a little bit. Now that I've built this board once it won't be an issue to build another knowing how tight the fit is.
In the clean channel of my Marshall it gives a real transparent (Yeah, I know I know) drive tone on its own. It's the sound of the amp just more of it. When I use it to push the dirty channel I hear more of the midrange, but not like a tube screamer. For a long time I fought against messing with Klones because of the hype. I've always been naturally bullheaded that way. These just sound too good to discount after you actually use one. It makes me wonder how much those Bondi Sick As pedals are modified beyond adding the bass knob because I think a bass control would make this about perfect.
