Well I’m in the middle of moving from state to state so I haven’t been about to build anything or even play so I have of course been reading and exploring various 🐇 🕳 ‘s . And I was checking out the Korg “NuTube” very interesting piece of tech but from the limited info I found on it, They just seem to expensive for what they bring to the table( a lofty claim but IMO will never hold a candle to a 12aX7) but for someone who really doesn’t like the idea for playing with high voltage it seemed like a safer and fun way to build a what-to-be tube style preamp circuit with multiple gain stages (although at $50 a pop that’s an expensive experiment) any of you ever play around with this weird little VFD triode?

Agreed. They are ridiculously expensive at the moment. I would definitely try them if they were more like $20, but even then...

Tube stuff doesn't have to be high voltage. There's stuff like the Valvecaster that runs a 12A_7 at 9V. I've always wanted to try something with submini tubes like the 6111. Many can be had for under $10.

I did the Madbean UberTuber that uses the 6111. It is interesting that this subject came up because this just came in this week. I am trying to find a way for the tube to be visible in the enclosure.

I have seen a few the sub mini amp projects some of them are pretty cool.. I didn’t realize they could be ran at 9v I might have to read a little more on them.

I don’t think I was actually able to find a build report on one of these, although I really didn’t look that hard. When you get that thing going. Could you do a build report for a brother? I’m really curious so that thing responds.

I will get it out this weekend and see if I can make a little sound demo. Take a look at the site and let me know what guitar you would like to hear with it. I can also play it through a Fender Blues Jr or a Mezzabarba Skill 30.

Nice! I want to hear that thing through the Mezzabarba for sure! what ever you got with passive humbuckers one of them RGs would be cool.
