LED displays from tayda?

Looks like I need to track down some LM3914 or LM3916. Tayda, mouser, digikey are out. eBay has some questionable listings. Electric Druid has a replacement chip for $5 a pop. Anyone know a good eBay seller or other source for LM3916/4?

I had thought of using some 4 segment bars as clipping diodes in a muff but never figured out an elegant way to mount it nor a means to get the hole right without it being a PITA.

Not to mention, that big hole in the enclosure does degraded its shielding properties.
Granted, I think you're around 3Ghz at a quarter wavelength with a 1 inch opening, so it shouldn't be that bad.

Something Something hole in shield is antenna that size or something something ...

Wire it , cover it in conformal coating and put conductive paint over that

A battery door is way worse and we rocked those, plastic cases, non flagged backs with full cracks around them etc for years.
The advent of cfl/led lighting has made this worse, but I doubt a 4 light led bar cause much more of a problem than a plastic DC jack.
Honestly. The large surface of the LED conducting absorbed energy when bright stage light flashes on it and causing clicks/pops/static may be the biggest hurdle.
