LED Resistor Value for Purple/Violet LED

Got someone wanting me to build them a pedal with a purple/violet led. What has been everyone’s experience with this color led and the best resistor value for this color that’s not too bright? Also, any recommendations for where to get this color led? I normally buy from tayda but they don’t seem to have purple.

It's been awhile since I've used one of these but I think 2-3k would sufficiently illuminate without being overly bright. I seem to remember using 1k and lower in the past to achieve comparable brightness to other water clear LEDs.
