LY-ROCK Tone Monster - (clone?) DSM & Humboldt Simplifier

Hello. I have a subject. I tried how it sounds. I also took it apart. I took a few photos.
The Humboldt Simplifier has been mentioned several times here on the forum. But it is unclear whether there will be a continuation.
This is definitely a very interesting device.

My Connection:
Les Paul Epi studio LT ---> Nux Cerberus ---> LY-ROCK Tone Monster ---> Headphones Sennheiser P-100 or PA (DIY amplifier on TDA7377 speakers JBL control 1) or Blackstar Fly3.
I'm not at home, on the road, it happened... so I don't have a good amplifier nearby, only Blackstar Fly3, but the sound is excellent.

I liked the sound. It's hard to tear yourself away from the game. ))
It is a little noisy, I tried to power it from batteries - the noise was within normal limits.
The left and right channels on the headphone output are reversed )
Takes the pedals very well!
I expected to see mosfets, but...

I took the photo hastily, maybe I can make it even better.
I hope this is interesting to someone. )))
Sory my bad inglish.

That looks much closer to the original than a lot of the Asian clones.

A bit odd that they decided to sand off the part numbers in the clone, but not the original.

That pic is a couple years old.

I'll have to hunt down the pedal, I still have it here somewhere... most likely still disassembled. :ROFLMAO:

in foto V2.01 - Is this the latest version? I wonder what the latest version is?
Can I hardcore mod mine to the latest version?

Not with my experience. It is not noisy at all. Been using the Fender amp sim on stage since last year and it work very good until now. My set up is dirt pedals, compressor on the input. Modulation, delay, reverb pedals are on the send and return. I am using a cheap china made 500mA dc power supply.

It's cheap solution for now. I have no experience with the original one.

Hello Sir, did you manage to make a pcb with the Saruman schematic on freestompboxes?
No, I haven't even started yet. I would prefer to use the full schematic rather than with some modules omitted.

Any opinions on Demonfx Simple? vs LY-ROCK Tone Monster? Inside?
I have the demon fx simple and it has all the same problems as the ly rock , leading me to believe it's identical/ near identical.

I did notice if you take it out of the enclosure the feedback on those switches stops. So it seems to be a ground loop through the enclosure and jacks, when you have a dummy plug in it's bypassed. Maybe you can ground it a bit different and fix the feedback issue, or just slap a dummy plug in and enjoy it.

I will say my unit has some microphonic issues. I'm trying to chase it down now and reflow some parts and see if it helps

I will confirm, i insulated both of the thru switches from the enclosure with some kapton tape and it no longer feedbacks when using it as before.
