SOLVED Mad Bean Tourbus (DMM)

I just finished this one up and it’s working fine and sounds great but it only does when on its own. It does not turn on when on my actual signal chain. I have it wired in true bypass and am powering it with the 18 volt side of my donner power supply. I don’t change anything as far as power goes while it’s being used on its own. I leave the power cable plugged in as is from function testing and add it to the signal chain and get nothing. Ive tried with or without a buffer in front of it and a single other pedal in the signal chain with it and no dice. Any ideas?

After the pedal stopped working, were you able to use it (i.e., working again) in isolation? Asking because sometimes stacked PCBs come apart with use. I put foam to prevent this on pedals I sell or will be giging with.

If not, maybe your power supply can't handle the current draw of all the pedals you have connected??

Yes, it worked fine after the first time adding it to my chain. I suspect the issue is the power supply. I think I’ll get its own to give that a shot.

Per @bean 's build doc, should only be pulling ~28mA. Now, it could be pulling more current than designed...
If OP is using the donner like I have, it has a 18v AC/DC brock that feeds the pedal power box thing¿
The 9v outs all have buck convertors but the 18v out is just a passthrough with a couple of filter caps, maybe a diode, don't member. If it's the same PSU, then unless s/he was right at the edge of overcurrenting the PSU I doubt that's the issue. Well. Unless the pedal is drawing more current than it should.

Thanks, I’ll check the draw and go from there.
