So I finished this Madbean/Baja limiter take on the La2a. Using it after my mic pre and I'm pretty happy with the results.
I added a second input in the front for other instruments that bypasses the mic pre, and added a second led to the front to visualize the led working with the ldr inside. Sometimes these things are hard to hear. Also the off switch bypasses everything, straight to my interface.
Here are some pics..

There is a slight filtering of frequencies over 5k I notice on bass and acoustic guitar especially. I'm wondering if this is an artifact of the analog nature of the opamps (Lf353) or if there is a cap that's filter it? I can't figure out what cap it would be.

Maybe I'm just used to digital copies in my daw, and expecting analog to act the same. I'm nitpicking here.

Second question: I'm thinking of making an analog eq. Passive? Neve copy? Anyone have a good idea or schematic of something? I have all the gain I need. I eq in my computer usually, but it would be cool to capture things live.

Congrats on the build and the imaginative way of integrating this into your system. I breadboarded this for fun awhile back and couldn't get it working, so your success inspires me to try it again in due course.

The noise isn't noticable, and I'm using super short connection cables. Always an XLR from the mics. I might change over if noise ever becomes an issue.
