Magnetron - LFO noise in signal?

Finished up this build yesterday, spent some time tinkering with it to make sure it was 100% before boxing it up with no problems. Sounds great!

After boxing it up, tried it again and there was noise in time and depth as the LED. While I assume it isn’t the actual LED causing it something must be.

I have tried:
Reflowing all the joints.
Trying a different 2399.
Cursing at it.
Praising it.
Hitting the side like Fonzie.
Pulling it from the enclosure.
New LED.

None of the above works.

I swear I saw something similar with the low tide or something but my searching didn’t bring up anything of use.

Sorry for the hack job building it, I had a bear of a time with the stop switch. Broke the wires multiple times with all the in and out of the case.

did you adjust your trimmer? mine has some noisy spots on the trimmer but once i got it dialed in it went away.
+1

there was noise in time and depth
adjusting the trimmer can help, but I've found sometimes it doesn't always completely resolve the issue. kind odd cos the trimmer here is just an input gain dial.

another thing i've found is that if you're using a daisy chain/shared power supply, other pedals with LFOs (chorus etc.) and/or chargepumps can affect the presence of noise in the magnetron delay.

i've also accepted/conceded that it's probably normal to get a little bit (more) LFO noise with the depth turned up real high. i haven't been able to completely be rid of it at high settings, so i usually just keep the depth below noon

The solution?

Nothing.

Tried it again last night and it was gone. That said going to use shielded wire and if it pops up again tinker with the trim pot.

Thanks for the help!
