I'm not much of a bass player (I'm not much of a guitar player either for that matter), but I have a bass player friend who was interested in pedals and I needed an excuse to order something from Madbean. I spent far more hours on the artwork for these than I'd care to admit, but I think they came out pretty great. First up we have the Gas Tank / Junk Trunk combo. Inspired by the origina brown and purple colors of the Brown Dog and Agent 00 Funk pedals I opted for a Peanut Butter and Jelly theme. BOTY graphics judges, I'm looking at you These are the new-ish white sand enclosures from Tayda, which you probably can't tell from the photos. The printed colors are a bit darker than they looked on screen. I tinkered with the holes a bit from what's in the build doc and thankfully everything fit. There's no crazy parts to find, so that's nice. The build is pretty straight forward. I'm liking the ability to put JST connectors for power on the board itself. I don't like the knob placement/spacing on these, but that may just be because I've become accustomed to the PedalPCB layouts. You need to pay attention to the 3PDT wiring depending upon whether or not you intend on using them in combo or not. Much like everyone else seems to agree they are fine on their own, but they are a whole lot more fun together. Next is the Boom Boom, which quite a few people here have built and said nice things about. I wanted to do make a special pedal just for my friend so I took a photo of him from Facebook and manually traced it in Inkscape to create the caricature of him. This one is a surprise so if any of you happen to live in Michigan and know him, please shut up His last name is Hildebrandt, so I thought Hildebrass would be a fun play on it. This is the first set of pedals I printed with Tayda, my other were from AmplifyFun. The quality of the white from Tayda is pretty lousy by comparison. I think I heard of some people doing a double white layer with Tayda, but I didn't see that option. If I were to guess, AmplifyFun does this by default since they don't require you to cut out the white from the color layer. As far as the build, there are a few slightly harder to find parts in this one, but nothing is unobtainium. The sounds that come out of this can be pretty bonkers. All kinds of weird synthy harmonics and whatnot. One thing that surprised me was given the noise and gain that it's capable of, it is remarkably quiet, shockingly so.
