Mesmerized issue

So after a very very long wait (so long I ordered from some else as well) I received my xr2206 from both sellers the same day . Put all the IC’s and trannies fired right up LED pulses in time and switches from green to red like I think it should the pots work correctly (to an extent)and I get signal in when on and when bypassed
I’m thinking while all of that is awesome the extent part is I don’t get any wet signal. When pedal’s engaged there is some slight coloring to the tone but the only indication the pots are doing something is the LED and the Volume pot works good
I’ve had issues with my 2n5485’s in my Muffler build (it didn’t work) and here the 2nd time using them this build isn’t working correctly either.
In my head it can only be the transistors or the xr2206 since everything I read about these chips is they dont work as intended.
Am I correct in my finding?
Can anyone add to this or school me on this circuit?

Have you tested the 2n5485's, made sure they're in spec?

That schematic is greek to me...but if those jfets are suspect I'd say test em out.

That’s what I was thinking cause I got XR2206 from 2 different sources to better my chances and only used 1 2n5485 in the muffler build which didn’t work and thought then that maybe they were no good but never checked them to the specs so I’ll give that a shot thank you for the reply

And I really really need to do better research on builds PRIOR to ordering a board. Only after I got the board did I find it’s one of those finicky circuits a lot of people have problems with. I don’t mind a challenging build at all as long as parts for it are legit and somewhat available
