My first vero project was a Phat Phuk B and I have really enjoyed that pedal for my hint of grit tones. With the bias backed off its pretty clean so it's also very nice as a boost that adds a fair amount of coloring to the sound. It's designed more to be a grimey bass booster than a real dirt box but with the bias dimed it brings some unique distortion. However, I doubt I'll use it that way very much. When Moonn made this "Suppa" version available I felt compelled to build it even though I was pretty sure I'd have no love for the Fat control. While that turned out to be true as far as my uses for bass, turning down the fat with guitar is actually pretty nice.
After realizing I enjoyed stacking the PhukB into the Suppa Phuk I started plotting a "king of tone for bass players." The plan started in a 1590bb2 with 6 pots and 2 stompers but the more I played them unboxed I found that my use was to have one always on set a bit grimey with a cleaner boosted phuk before it, both with the fat knob maxed. I have a box of GT309B and have plenty of suitable transistors so I chose to just order 2 more boards from Nils so I could build both the "phull phat double phuk" as well as a standalone Suppa retaining the fat control.
I've stopped putting 2 footswitches in 125b boxes but i wanted a way to bypass both circuits so I used a 3pdt short bat toggle for one and an extra long footswitch for the other.
My only gripes are that I wired the toggle upside down so bypass is in the up position. I'd have to replace all them wires so I'm skipping that for now. Also for some reason Moonn laid out the pcb so that the bias knob works in reverse. I chose not to offboard the pots more for reliability concerns than convenience.
