This thing is described as fuzz for people who don't like fuzz. One could say it's a neutered tone bender but that wouldn't make for good ad copy. At max gain it is definitely a fuzz but backing the gain down gets you in to fizzy OD territory pretty quickly. I a/b tested with a few things and with everything maxed out it's kind of like my Dizzy Tone with the gain at 9:00. The important difference being that the FU-Z maxed can clean up with the instrument volume while the Dizzy at 9:00 peters out. I'm always on the hunt for things that bring something unique to my collection so it's definitely earned a spot on the shelf though it'll likely never see my pedalboard. Surprisingly good, it even has nearly as much low end as the Dizzy tone.
The finish is a bit of rattle can experimentation. Hammered copper, textured metallic black sparkle, and then green/purple colorshift. Layering the three differing textures could've gone terribly but I'm actually really happy with this. I should upgrade the knobs but who can afford pink baggy day anymore?
