Moonn Try Hard and Umschubser

This combination of Moonn projects isn't so much about two circuits that needed to be paired up, rather the Try Hard could be added to any other dirt box for some fun times. It's an LDR controlled filter so your highs disappear entirely unless you're in a well lit room. This means it's not really something I'd use live but I liked it enough that I wanted to box it up so I decided to pair it with another moonn project that I have similar feelings for. I guess I need to buy a strobe light now. My only regret is that the LDR went crooked while wiring it up and I don't have any motivation to fix it.

The Umschubser is pretty much just two bazz fusses in series. The "ugliness" knob does in fact make it a bit uglier but it's more of a change in texture than tone but I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. More broken? No surprise that this circuit brings a lot of low end. It was suggested to socket/audition the diode and I found a big ol' D18 to be the one.

I've got a few pedals that have an LDR in them that you can interact with to mess with a parameter or two on the pedal and they're a ton of fun to mess with but I could never see them being used in a live setting. I'd probably replace or augment them with an LFO if I were to ever play live (fat chance of that though...).

I thought about putting that tryhard in a box with a dirt circuit. I was thinking of using LED clipping and put the LDR right on it for an envelope style effect.
