MOSFET Driver vs Cattle Driver

Iv done quite a few Cattle Drivers and still have one on my board. Never done a MOSFET Driver.

Can anyone give any insight into what it’s like. I’ve always though the CD lacks a bit of gain ?

Looking at the schematic you can easily give the Cattle Driver more gain by increasing the value of the gain pot.

It’s an overdrive, so up the pot value to 100k or even 250k (you might get opamp clipping with that high of a value), change the clipping diodes to something with a lower forward voltage (GE or schottky), or both

Bloody awesome. I have some aa143s, 1n34s, 1n270s, Bat41s I can audition. I will stick in a 100k pot and see what that’s like.
