First time I have been this excited about a new pedal build in a while. I have some texture red Tayda enclosures at the ready but I will take my time over this next build. Still deciding on what diodes to replace the LED clippers with - in the first one I might go for two pairs of 1N4148s because that has always seemed to work in the past and I don't mind slightly less Grrrr.

The whole reason I wanted to build my own version of this pedal was to try different clipping diodes. I reeeeally like the Strawberry Red OD but never get along with LEDs as clippers. I can see why a lot of players like 'em but they don't work for me at all.

Can’t wait to see / hear it. What’s the topology?

Dunno. It uses two ICs - a 4558 and an NE5532. I'll probably just use TL072s for both. No schematic yet. No weird Björn resistor values like 14.7K either. Is 14.7K available in SMD?
Is this based on the One Control version? I wonder if that’s the reason.

And speaking of, I’m interested in how Bjorn adapted the Baby Blue OD since it was such a coveted/rare pedal from his handwired lineup. The OC version went over like a fart in a hurricane!

Yeah this is a One Control pedal. I don't think he ever did a Strawberry Red anywhere else?

Well I finished my first one today and have been testing for a little while with various guitars. I like it! Changes I made were one of the 3n9s is a 3n3 because I only had one 3n9 left, and I didn't use the LEDs as clipping diodes. I used a pair of diodes - two 1N4148s and two 1N4001s, because that combo has worked for me before. And sure enough, they sound great in the place of the red LEDs here. I don't know what it is but red LEDs annoy me as clipping diodes. The sound is now smoother but still aggressive. Actually the new pedal sounds almost exactly as I expected it would, and that is great! Oh, and I used a pair of TLC272 ICs because I've run out of TL072s for nw.

Couple of other changes I will make as soon as I see a schematic will be to try make it a bit brighter at maximum brightness and I'd like to be able to roll off a little more low end.

It's a fantastic OD with a Strat - well it sounds great with my Duojet and Casino too but it's particularly good with a Strat. It adds lots of body, sounds great on both bridge and neck pickups and still maintains the clarity of the low strings.

I think this one would be even more exciting to me except that in the time that I've been wanting to experiment with it I've found a couple of other circuits which I like just as much if not more for some guitars. But it really is a killer circuit and once I can make a couple more tweaks I reckon it will be a mainstay.
