Wife said get whatever in want for Christmas so...
It's been a nearly 20 year GAS and I found one for less than a Miata.
'69 Super drip
Well roadworn. Has some quirks I need to sort (reverb send not working but boing is there, bright switches do little to nothing).
It will be a learning experience like everything else but I'm so stoked.

I'll be putting a Randal MTS 50 combo with 5 modules up for sale if anyone is interested.

Is that a 4x10 or???

I have a 76 Bassman Ten that I bought simply to restore. I felt sorry for the totally abused girl and the price was right. Blown speaker had the polarity reversed, numerous switches and pots not working, BIG ass dent in the middle of the faceplate and chassis. I spent an afternoon with a small sledge hammer and a piece of 2x4 pounding it back to straight. Replaced the power caps, the diodes all tested great but I'm going to replace those soon too. Cheap piece of mind.... It had been stored in a beauty salon and reeked to high heaven of cheap perfume and beer, and perhaps some cat pee too. Nasty. Stripped the tolex and sealed the wood with amber shellac. Smell GONE!

They use a lot of ammonia based products in hair salons, so may not have been cat pee, better safe than sorry though!

Yep
Tolex is trashed but still has the tilt backs and original footswitch. Surprised the grill is in decent shape aside from on but poking out a bit. Was hoping it had some stop signs in it but unfortunately it's JJs. Original caps per the owner who had owned it for 30 years. But it's been constantly played for most of its life.
I'll post up a couple more pics later.
This one only smells of pot smoke so I'm good with it.
I'm not sure I'll put much effort into visual restoration. There's a certain charm to a heavily played amp's road patina that I enjoy.

Whoa, just noticed the jensen alnicos! ***score***
Not 100% but I think black brackets are P10Rs, but the concert series badge is unique.
Not sure on the silver baskets.
PTs or PMs?
Not super hip on vintage Jensen's.
Question for a buy that knows his way around these.
Seem to have no reverb send. Have return, shake=boing.
Would you start with the AT7?
I thought I read there was a mod some did to kill the reverb to lower the noise floor. Can't recall what or where...
Of course, need to check the footswitch as well...

It's probably the P10R which are 25w each. P10Q's are 40w each so four of those would be used for 100w output.

Depending on the model, some of the reverbs are automatically on if you just remove the footswitch, some need jumping, and I don't remember which ones are which. I'd start there, then change the tube out for a known good one, and if that doesn't work then start pulling one end of the leads and checking capacitors and resistors for value.

Those carbon comp resistors sometimes crack, or drift like crazy. I remember one guy was having trouble with his reverb and found the resistor no longer had any continuity between sides.....

Hey I just remembered while making dinner that the transducers sometimes go bad in the reverb tank. So you may want to check that out before you go desoldering resistors/capacitors, checking value, and soldering back into place (a royal pain in the tukus)
