Nein fuzz volym pot pop

Hi! I just built a Nein fuzz from pedalpcb, and it sounds great!! But I realized that when I turn the volume knob in a certain spot when it’s close to being maxed (accidentally put the plastic knob on weirdly so around 3 o’clock is max, not 5 like it normally is) there’s this weird popping or crackling noise, which comes no matter the other knobs settings.
Do any of you guys potentially know what could be wrong? Everything else about it seems to work just fine.
It doesn’t seem like there’s dc leakage to the volume pot, so I’m quite stumpeddd.

Also, I know fuzzes are noisy, but should there still be some buzz from the amp when volume on guitar is rolled off but the pedal is engaged?

Couldn’t insert a video for some reason, tell me if that would be useful

Yeah
That's a dead spot on the carbon track. Bad pot.
Hi again… just switched out the pot and the problem remains… I’m starting to second guess whether maybe I did a bad job measuring for dc leakage to the pot. You don’t happen to have knowledge on how I’d go about measuring that? Or any other idea of what could cause the noise?

DC usually exhibits like a noisy pot across the range. Not in a particular spot.
That 1u film should be blocking any DC
You would see DC between lugs 1 and 3 if not.
Did you measure your jfets or try swapping them?

Alright alright, it does make the static noise across the whole sweep, but it isn’t that noticeable until almost at max. Haven’t measured them no, only had the three so I just put them in. I was under the impression that smd transistors tend to be more similar to each other spec wise than through hole ones so I didn’t bother measuring…
