It's finally here. With baited breath I carefully cut the tape holding the styrofoam lid on. It's B-E-A-uuuuu-tiful..... And then I tune it. Almost.

Seller promised to send replacement asap.... But that means NO JOY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT. Unless I play the guitar I bought in February..... lol.... Yeah, the D45 will have to do for this evening.....

That's the new Gibson Robo-Drop-Tuner. You have to tap the tone knob 72 times to put it in old man mode and coincidentally remind you of "when music was good"
~or~
How I learned to love a cacophony of reverb and delay, tuning be damned, ala A Place to Bury Strangers

JK. :p
I couldn't see. Is this a vintage axe or newer? Maybe the layer sold it because it wouldn't stay in tune?

It's a Chibson. I swore I wasn't going to buy any more guitars this year, but I got a quart of Bourbon for a birthday present. And woke up the next morning with a guitar in my Purchased list..................

I mean. Is replacing all the tuners out of the question?
I guess being able to intonate it first matters though ...
Oh they're sending me a whole new set. The G string sucks too. The intonation is dependent on the distance from the nut to the saddle, so that won't be an issue. I hope. If the intonation is already ok, which I haven't actually checked since I can't tune it.

The D45 clone that I got from the same company earlier this year is better sounding and playing than my REAL Martin d28. This thing is just a gas to play.

I've got it out for tonight.

I've named her Kimmer, after my late wife. Not as beautiful, but darn near it!

This is Elvis. Larger, deeper thicker sounding. Definitely a man-tar. :sneaky:
